Emaar Misr signs EGP 297 million contract with Hassan Allam Sons for construction work in Uptown Cairo

Hazem Ashry, Emaar Misr General Manager, said: “Uptown Cairo, our
pioneering integrated community development in Cairo, is progressing at a
rapid pace with homes in the first phase to be handed over shortly. The
new contract with Hassan Allam Sons Construction Company is to undertake
the construction of over 200 residential units.”
He added: “The company was selected based on their expertise in
undertaking large-scale projects and our development brief is to develop
the new residences in line with the world-class standards that Emaar is
renowned for. The total value of contracts for undertaking new development
work at Uptown Cairo in 2011 is now EGP 567 million, highlighting our
commitment to support the Egyptian economy and create new jobs. The total
number of workers on site is expected to be 6,000 soon.”
Hassan Allam, Managing Director of Hassan Allam Sons Construction Company,
said: “We are honoured to partner with Emaar Misr, one of the largest
development companies in the region, and to work on Uptown Cairo, a
path-breaking project in Egypt’s real estate sector. We will execute the
project to world-class standards, upholding the quality parameters
outlined by Emaar Misr.”
Uptown Cairo is the largest mixed-use lifestyle development within Cairo,
and is billed to evolve into the true hub of the city with its easy
accessibility from Maadi, Heliopolis, Nasr City and Central Cairo. Located
at an altitude of over 200 metres above sea level in the Mokkattam Hills,

furnishing, the residences will be equipped with the advanced telecom and

Emaar Misr is one of the largest foreign direct investors in Egypt’s real
estate sector, and is currently developing three projects in the country –
Mivida, Marassi and Uptown Cairo.
Hassan Allam sons is one of the largest private sector construction
companies in Egypt, specialised in developing luxury units and delivering
large-scale, highly complex construction projects in sectors such as power
generation, water and waste-water management, industrial construction,
residential and commercial buildings and restoration.
