The BESIX Group announced last Friday that Six Construct, a 100% BESIX Group owned subsidiary, was awarded the main construction contract for Yas Mall valued at EUR 416 million.

Developed by Aldar Properties, Yas Mall is a major retail development on Yas Island, a leading leisure and entertainment destination located in Abu Dhabi. Six Construct will construct the 235,000 square meter retail area, northeast and northwest decked car parks with capacity to house a total of 10,000 cars, and all associated infrastructure. The total built-up area will be approximately 1.2 million square meters. The project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2013.

The BESIX Group, of which OCI holds a 50% stake, completed the construction of the marina at the Yas Island Formula One race circuit in 2008.
